A prayer scarf outside the muktinath temple walls at roughly 3800m above sea level. There are two small temples inside the walls, one tibetan buddhist and another one hindu. Religions here seem to play along with each other very well.

People walk across the Kali Gandaki riverbed during the dry seasons, because it's somewhat shorter than taking the roads. However winds can get quite strong, so make sure you're prepared. Pebbles in some areas will definitely kill your foot, making it feel like a foot reflexology session from hell.

The long and winding road

Part of the reason why my knees felt like they weren't mine anymore by the end of the day. Imagine, these stairs took less than 5 mins to climb down, and we had hours of these ahead of us that day :s
