Took this during a (mostly disappointing) hike to Gunung Kutu a couple months back. I held my camera with one hand while holding the leaf with the other to prevent the slight breeze from ruining the shot. At the end I finally managed to get a clear shot

Not content with the usual bird shots, I was looking for something unusual when it came to the cockatoos. I was in the bus waiting to leave when I saw this one in the midst of spreading its wings, which proved to be an interesting picture.

Taken at the aviary in Melbourne Zoo (a Brolga, it seems?). Even though this section of the aviary was supposed to simulate tropical climates, I guess it was still too cold for it to bear.

So the wait turned out to be an hour long, because they had to make a few trips to get everyone up the hill. Rummaging around the bushes, I found a rather large bee humping a flower collecting nectar for the longest time. After half an hour of (failed) macros, the bee was amazingly still there!

This taken on my company trip to Gunung Irau. While waiting for the others to arrive, I spent my time taking pictures in the small waiting area. The surroundings were so moist that lichens have grown on a traffic signboard.

Wasp up?

Yup, this is the same bug that Kit shot. Sneaky l'il fella, this one. It kept darting back and forth the wire fence while we both tried to get a good shot of it. I got fed up at the end and blasted flash at it with a high(low?) aperture which ended up with a reasonable shot, and called it a day :P
